Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania.

Transfer to your hotel in Arusha, where you'll have a pre-climb briefing with your tour operator.

Rest and prepare for the climb.
Day 2: Machame Gate (1,800m/5,905ft) to Machame Camp (3,000m/9,840ft)

After breakfast, drive to the Machame Gate at Mount Kilimanjaro National Park.

Complete the necessary registration and paperwork.

Begin your trek through the rainforest to reach Machame Camp.

The first day is relatively easy and serves as a good warm-up.
Day 3: Machame Camp (3,000m/9,840ft) to Shira Camp (3,840m/12,600ft)

Continue your ascent through the heather and moorland.

Pass through the scenic valleys and cross a series of ridges.
