4-Day Tanzania Lodge Safari
On this 4-day Tanzania lodge safari, we will be well looked after and afforded the opportunity to see some of the best that Tanzania has to offer. We'll experience breathtaking wildlife in the midst of some of the most diverse landscapes; monkeys in the forest, lions in trees, elephants amongst the acacias, and a huge variety of animals inside a collapsed volcano. Not only will we visit Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Park but also drive into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater.
Details Of 4-Day Tanzania Lodge Safari Itinerary
DAY - 1: ARRIVAL IN ARUSHA
You will be picked up from the airport by a Kanje representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Arusha. Here you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come. You'll stay at Arusha Planet Lodge that is an oasis of calm and aesthetic pleasure.
DAY - 2: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
In the morning, we will collect you from our lodge in Arusha with our safari guide greeting you with a broad smile in anticipation of our coming adventures. The drive to Tarangire is on a good tarmac road that takes us across gently rolling Maasai plains with scattered acacia trees. As we zip along we'll pass many Maasais in their colorful attire walking on the roadside, riding bicycles, herding cattle, and driving donkeys carts.
Tarangire, well known for its large elephant herds, is a diverse landscape of seasonal swamps, savanna, and the life-giving Tarangire River which wends its way through the park. From the open roof of the vehicle, we will seek out the myriad animals that inhabit here including zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe. It is possible we'll glimpse Simba stalking his prey or a leopard relaxing in the trees. After an extensive game drive, we'll leave the park and head for our nearby lodge where we'll enjoy dinner and relaxation in our quarters awaiting us.
DAY - 3: NGORONGORO CRATER
After an early breakfast, you will drive through the Rift Valley to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro Highlands. The Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera, is almost 20km wide and approximately 610m deep. It is known for its large variety of wildlife, including the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. It should be recognized as one of the world's wonders. It is truly magnificent.
In addition to the Big Five, the various springs attract animals such as wildebeest, gazelles, reedbucks and more than 500 bird species. At a picnic site, you will have lunch before enjoying some more game viewing in the crater. You will leave the crater in the afternoon, drive up the steep road out of the crater and return to the lodge.
DAY - 4: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK THEN ARUSHA
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha. The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons. It is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On your exploration of the park, you will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, elephants and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. In the afternoon, you will return to Arusha.
